I love the "march of the masses" to the left of the shot. This is very effective. Good use of black and white. Nicely done. |

This is a very interesting photo. Excellent photo journalism. I'm not sure if it's NG but I really like it. I will probably remember this one long after I have forgotten the winning photographs.
Great work! |

Perfect amount of motion blur in your blind marchers. I don't know if that bit of bright background needs to be quite that bright, but overall tone range (into the deep blacks) is great. |

When I think National Geographic, I think color. Although this shot is not in color, I like your message and the technical quality of the photo. Great execution of a good idea! |

An image only a camera could capture; most people would focus on the crowd and look higher to see their heads. The time exposure makes the crowd translucent and denying visibility of the heads makes the viewer focus on the "forgotten person". This needs to be in black and white to emphasize its starkness, and I hope that even the National Geographic editors would agree with that choice even though they normally favor color. |

Looking at the guys hands, you can tell that the dog was stiller than the human. Interesting capture! Hope to hear the story behind it!

The framing of this shot couldn't be better. This is an excellent photojournalistic shot with some good creative stuff too. It is emotive and visually impacting and I think a great shot. Outside of the buliding is just a little extra hot. I totally understand why, but it still is hot. So you'll have to settle for 9 |

Wonderful, meaningful effect having the people walking by - you feel the motion perfectly. The fence frames the other side of your subject and works visually and thematically - he is fenced in my people's blindness. Having your suject so dark, and placed one third of the way in fro the right balances the composition, gives space for the movement of passers-by which is the other subject of the picture. Well done. I'd like to see what it would look like with the distance darkened up a bit - the brightness is a bit distracting. 9 |

I'm tempted to ask if this is the same man/dog that was posted in the forums a while ago. But that doesn't matter. I love how the people motion really isolates your subjects to reinforce your title. The length of the line of people makes me think of time also, like how long will people ignore the homeless. This is just a wonderful journalistic image. Hope you are paying him for his help. |

I am very impressed with this photograph. The clarity of the sitting man against the motion of the moving people is very compelling. I see the subject as "left behind" and can certainly see it tying into some form of NG scenario. Technically, the only thing I can see is that the background may be a tad too white, a tad too contrasted, but I believe that is a matter of personal taste. One of my highest scores this challenge. |

Good picture but the passersby look like they could be multiple exposures of the same person. Perhaps a change of shoes would have worked better. |

This is an amazing B&W. The motion blur of the people passing by really gives a sense of "forgotten". This is the kind of meld of photojournalistic and stylistic photo qualities that defines natural geographic photos. |
