This was not my plan for today. I wanted to take a picture at the nature preserve that I run at during lunch on weekdays. So I get out the 50mm 1.8 (been a while since I used it) and get a tree in foreground with woods in background. I am literally laying down on my stomach to get angle right. I get home and they're blurry - I really need to slow down and take extra pictures, just in case.

So I go to my backup plan. While laying down I I snapped some picture of a dandelion. Again, I'm at 1.8 and wind is blowing.... yep... blurry again.

Before I left area I went back over to the area where I got the shot of yellow & pink flowers for Day 13. I was in pursuit of some bees but the pictures were only OK, so I didn't want to use them for here.

This is the last one I took while heading back to the car. The swirled flower caught my eye and I decided to take one more. Focus is a tiny bit off, but it turned out OK.

That's how my day has been.

I really like the out of focus flower in the background, what a beautiful shade of pink!

Really, it's like being hypnotized by flowers: You WILL take my photo.

I'm barely interested in flower photos, but I think this is one of the special ones.

Wow, if only my bad luck produced such amazing results! This is gorgeous! The vibrant pink against the deep green looks lovely; gives a low-key sense even with that pink... again I am mesmerized and cannot stop looking :-)

Beautiful colors and DOF. They look like pinwheels.

Almost surreal looking. The DOF and swirl give it a mesmerizing effect.

Beautiful.

Love the colours and the effective duplication of the bloom at different focal lengths (I do appreciate that these are two different plants)

Again, I feel this should be on a wall or in a catalogue

Super

Oh this is lovely. They have a twisted look- very cool. Perfect DOF and the duplicity of them is gorgeous.

The focus may be a bit off, but in this shot, it looks more soft than oof. I like the swirl of the petals. That adds a lot of interest to the shot.

there's something so curious about this! i can't stop looking at it! is the the curling back of the petals? is it the repetition in the BG? is it the way the flower seems to spiral? is it the color? i think its the combo of all these things... good job!

well you do put a lot of effort into getting your pics. I am pretty sure I am not gonna get on the ground like that to get a shot. I guess I am not devoted enough. lol

I really like this shot. I love the diagonal and the set of two. It looks almost like one is the reflection of the other. Love the softness of the petals and excellent color as well.
