 One of my varsity textbooks standing up right, shot at an angle. Reversed lens macro. The aperture was either f/11 or f/16. As there is no electrical connection between camera and lens, no aperture information is recorded and it's hard to remember exactly what I used.

Lighting: Used a box that had the bottom cut off. Cut a hole in the top and taped a piece of regular white A4 office paper over. Stuck my flash inside, making a nice makeshift softbox. I put the book on top.

Post processing: RAW conversion. Cloned out a small speck of dust in the bottom right of the image. Resize, smart sharpen, border and save for web.

based on the top 10 , i think this should have scored higher, the focus is great, the composition is right on. i guess from what i read people were not sure what this is , hence they voted you down

Nice abstract. Looks like either a negative image, or you've lit it through the paper from underneath. Ether way, it's very effective.

I love the glow from the bottom. Gives an interesting feel to it. I really like how even though the white on the bottom right is bright it isnt overexposed and you can still see some texture to it.

Its cool texture and depth of field, but it just doen't do it for me sorry, The image doesn't make me want to keep looking.
