Youth festival was held in Reykjavik last weekend. On Friday a band was playing outdoor at diverse places downtown. She is the band´s violinist. I spotted her walking in the crowd.

This is so interesting. This beautiful face literally glowing in the crowd. It would be a killer in the street photography challenge too.

Although it is a nice idea, I think there are too much distracting elements around, for instance the traffic light. The main object in this case is too small in the picture. On the other hand I doubt that this is a setup, so it is already a bit of a lucky shot.

Nice capture. She really stands out in that setting. Unfortunate the guy is peeking over her shoulder.

Excellent! I assume she is your model, and not some strange girl walking around town with a violin out of its case. Either way, it's well done, and it's unusual enough that it catches my attention, even after voting on 126 portraits.

The only thing that hurts this shot is the man looking over her shoulder. He directly competes for your attention and distracts from her. I'd clone out both him and the back of the head on the other side of her neck.

Great concept... but location should have been some theater.

A tighter crop would be much better.

maybe not exactly a portraint, but a nice candid shot!

I love this image! It looks like a candid, probably is. Either way it's gorgeous! She looks lost in her own thoughts.

It doesn't look like much of a portrait ... but man, it's an AWESOME candid! I love how she stands out in the crowd due to the colors and the DOF.

A nice candid but i'm not sure about the crop, it's a little distracting for a portrait

A candid portrait that works well. The light is wonderful; it not only picks out the skin tones well, but also the rich mahogony colour of the violin. The setting is bizarre, which adds to the photos 'story' and appeal. My only real gripe is with the pedestrian immediately behind the violinist. None the less, a strong photograph.

Lots of distractions in the picture.... like the guy behind the violinist, the right hand side of the image, etc....

Superb use of DOF. Somewhat more of a candid, than a portrait, but I like the presentation very much. (9)

Love it.
Not your usual 'portrait' but still a portrait nonetheless.
Lovely focus and natural highlighting.

Interesting, but it doesn't *quite* work for me. Crop tighter on the left hand side, so that lampost isn't so central, and I think it gets better.

Great picture. I love the contrast of the ordinary (the woman's typical haircut, the backpack, the stoplight) with the near-exotic (the violinist, of course).
