Cool shot! I think there is a slight blue tinge to the light, though it is only a nit-pick. Love the stark blue eyes.

Very nice shot, Christian. I have to agree with Sara about cropping off the top, but you know what you're doing, so I'll assume you chose not to. :)

The eyes make the photo

This could have been stunning, but, for me at least, there are a couple of issues that totally change the feel.

First what I like - the composition is good, the spare nature compliments the sad face. The perspective is an excellent choice, and really helps the viewer feel the eye contact; it also adds to the feeling of the child's vulnerability. The child's expression connects with me.

Here is why I am not keen on the photo as entered here - firstly the processing of the eyes, which become a too dominant feature. The processing here just doesn't meld with the overall photo. Secondly the bright overblown section of hair, and thirdly the change of background. These last two are easily dealt with by cropping just below the line in the background.

I sound very negative - other's may like the portrait as it is, but I personally would love to see it processed differently, more subtlely, as I feel that it is a strong base photograph

I love the blue eyes! It looks like it's indoors with a bright overhead light. Is this natural light?

eyes are a little overprocessed compared to the rest of the picture in my opinion, to me you crossed the line between making them pop to makeing them fake

Picture is overexposed and off-center - neither of which help. Great eyes and even lighting. Try cropping it on just the face, and see if you like that (may need to rotate a bit so it is level).

what a lovely photo, only bit that I feel spoils it is the shiney bit on the top of the head, hes going to be a real heart breaker, great focus
