Looking at the comments apparently most did not understand what I was going for. If this was meant to be traditional portraiture it would be totally different.

Oh well. This is still one of my new favorite images.

Indeed I was going for the ad look. And models in ads are usually pretty vacant... as opposed to portraiture where you try to show emotion.

I concur with pedro, in no way should this have ended up in 409th! Much better than that! Don't care much for comments, as it's all subjective, I like it and if you like it sod them all!!!

no way does this belong in 408th place. A&F could use this in their catalog. Excellent.

He looks stiff and uncomfortable, but she looks perfect. I definately got that you were going for an "ad" type look. I can't stop staring at his front arm. It just looks too forced. I think the lighting is cool (except for the purple glowy thing under his chin). Overall I think this is a good shot though. Just being picky! :)

Overall, I like this shot. The light is nice on both their faces. The 1st thing that jumped out at me was the purple light under his chin and then a bit later, I noticed the purple light on his shirt. I find it really distracting when I am trying to look at the rest of the photo and my eyes continue to jump back at to the purple. The compostion is nice and you did a good job posing the models together. As well, both of his hands are just cut off and it would have been nice if they were fully in the frame. Nice photo.

Well, you achieved the ad look, and the vacant look. I just don't understand why ads need to have that look. It doesn't make me want to buy anything. In case you're interested, I gave this photo a 5 because it successfully achieved what it was trying to achieve.

Then you succeeded wonderfully! :) Sorry - I cut my comment short. I can see their faces fine, although I'd like the shadows to be a bit brighter; I meant I can't see much detail in their hair.

In other words, for whatever reason, I'm not getting any emotional connection between them. Aside from that, I'd like to see more light on the dark sides of their faces. I'm not one of the people who hates shadows, but I really can't see much.

Very nice ambient light portrait...the pose is interesting, and still seems quite natural. Well done!

Very nice lighting. They seem uncomfortable, especially the man.

It's just rather ordinary to me. Maybe it's 'cause I got no friends...

Part of me really wants to like this. But the other parts asks, what is the photo about? If it is about a couple relaxing then why is one looking at the camera and the other away? If it is a portrait then the same question is asked.

Overall there just isn't much pizzazz.
