A very strong image with the trees framing the sun. The detail satisfies the eyes and the subdued reflection adds charm and tenderness. An image that evokes the peaceful nature of the soul.
Strange: but I look at it more as a cloudy day near sunset than I do as night picture. I love this image.

A Critique Club comment:
The adjustments you made do give the shot a night time feel. The eye keeps trying to straighten the trees against the horizon but I think the larger trees in the background on the left correct for that for the most part. The light source seems too bright for the moon but one's mind automatically makes allowances for that because of the overall night time effect. Still, it's a little bit distracting in the sky (the way the light falls on the snow both background and foreground is lovely). |

| i really like what you have done here. i do have a question for you. how did you give it the bluish tint? i have been wanting to do that with some of my photos. i was wondering if you would share your steps with me on how you did shuch a fantastic shot. it is perfect. it should have won. |

Like probably most of the 15 who finished with a score above 7 I thought a ribbon would be in my grasp. Competition is getting hot around here!! :-)
My Road Sign photo is doing well also but with high scoring photos like this I won't dream of that ribbon just yet! ;-) |

| Beautiful shot, I would want this one on my wall (and there arent many shots that I would want on my wall). Great angle, great subjects and the sky is just amazing on top of everything else. Perfect shot, my only 10 this week (up to now at least) |

| This is a lovely scene with some great texture on the ground. The sky hot spot is just too overexposed, but the shot survives it. |

Entered quite a long comment on this one but for some reason it did not save. Anyway it was the only one I gave 10 to. Everything about this has worked. Even the fact that some people would grumble about the burned out sun. In this case I believe it has totally worked. It must surely win. For some reason I am also unable to add to favourites with this one. Could you email me so I can keep an eye on your work and see older work.

| Incredible winter scene. Love the glistening of the snow. It just sparkles. Contrast is really good and helps to separate the snow, trees, and the breathless sky. Absolutely beautiful. |
