It made me laugh, I can see the disappointment of the lone squash and the gloating of the victorious suitor! Very nice composition and simple yet effective expression

I like it! Great colors and forms as well as very good dof. I'd brighten it slightly but it's really fine as it is. Good luck in the callenge. Gracious aka Grayce

Composition - Very good. Great choice of squach.
Technical Aspects - quite good
Meets Challenge - yes
Visual Impact / Originality – very good
Other suggestions – I'd like to see a version with more color saturation. Might make it jump off the page more.

Very creative - I like the fact that the distant gourd is out of focus - your caption really adds to the appeal of the composition.

Beautiful colors! Nice juxtaposition of the gourds. Good DOF...love the lone envious gourd (poor baby). Small distraction from the warble in the paper on right but does not affect score. (8) ~mcmurma

I like the organization of this photo. The concept is really carried out well, from the title, down to the shape of the gourds. Very creative. I like the way you chose to focus; though I imagine some might make a case that the focus should be on the jealous gourd in the background. That would be interesting to see as well. Just a different idea -- nothing wrong with what you have here. Only brainstorming.

I like this photo, but ultimately it is interest/appeal that keeps it from scoring higher with me. Sounds silly - perhaps I have a squash prejudice. LOL.

PS> If you're interested in nitpicks, the blemish just inside the neck of the large hugging gourd distracts me just a bit. 7, just-married

This is a very good photo. I like the fact the back *thing* is not in focus and the front is, and SOMEHOW you've managed to give the back fruit a sense of being upset. I like the nice vibrant colours against the white background aswell, but I think it would look a bit more vibrant if you darkened the brightness, and addeed a little bit of contrast, it wouls make the orange stand out more. 8 -- Konador

excellent photo... Your message here is clear and concise :) Great job with the lighting and composition as well... the background on the right side seems to be a little uneven, but the overall image and idea here is quite impressive... good work :) = 9 - jmsetzler

This is one of my favorite shots for this challenge. It's clever, colorful and it doesn't have any harsh reflection lighting at all. I love the negative space used here and I love the affection display of the composition. The DOF is perfect, leaving the outsider in the background. My only suggestion would be to correct the wrinkle in the upper right of the background. A wonderful piece of art. 9 Gotcha, good luck

cute idea, good color matching, bad background paper.

I would hang this on my wall! I think your title really helps complete the photo. But.. as I look at it.. keeping the title out of view.. The soft focus/blur (whatever the technical term is) on the gourd (?) in the background helps to explain the photo too. When I first saw this, I thought.. #1!! Love it. Good job! 10 Jenguin

Nice shot. I like the mood this invokes with the title. Possibly you could have done moore with the lighting to give the front gourds a little more depth. Looks like the lighting is pretty much from the top, and maybe it should be lower and to the left? Looks like your background paper is a little wrinkled in back right too. It doesn't really detract, but ya gotta watch that pesky paper.
