This was taken at Little Missouri Falls in North Arkansas. (Albert's Pike) I was there to take shots of the falls for fun, and then saw how these were all flowing at about the same angle. I really hope the voters will see it, and not vote it down for being a waterfall picture, and not note the repeated pattern of my "theme". who know, i like it :D
i'm guessing about a 6.2
PP:
raw conversion. ran through single raw conversion tonemapping (photomatix pro). few minor cloning, dodge burning on the bank and on the rocks, mostly. resize, high-pass filter in overlay mode (20% opacity) for sharpening. save for web, done.
this is my first entry with my new 17-40 f/4L hoping for the best. :D love it so far.

so i edited this one on my monitor that i thought was calibrated, but forgot that it was running under the profile for my LCD monitor that i hook up to my laptop, so WAY too completely blown out.
Correctly Edited here:

Greetings from the critique club :)
Well hello there buddy, what´s up! Personally think this image is underrated but still, I can understand the score. Think it mostly has to do with the fact that waterfall photos like this are very frequent there at DPC, especially during the summer months so you really need to put something extra into them these days to get high scores. You are of course aware of the blown highlights and definately think that hurt the score. I don´t really mind them, of course I would want more texture in those areas but they don´t really hurt the shot much I think, just a lot of DPC voters can´t stand them and draw away points for that.
At least the majority of the voters gave you a 6, that´s good. I don´t understand the high number of 4 votes, maybe people who are tired of waterfall photos like this and maybe some that didn´t really see any rythm to the photo.
Kind regards from Iceland, Lárus. |

Love the water but the foliage seems oof. Might be more dramatic if cropped to only have the motion of the water. |

Would have been more compelling with less of the trees. Nice. |

unfortunately the whites are too blown out. But you got a good vision to see this repetition. Congratulations to this. |
