Thanks for all the comments. For this picture, there's no studio work no nothing... i just happen to be at the right place and at the right time. Even i was standing so far the heat from the fire was great. Luckily i got my 7X zoom with me. Accually, this photo is a part of a factory explosion. This is the back part of the factory. More details of this can be found in www.pbase.com/ericcheah/factory_on_fire =) Thanks again for the comments & btw, i cant find "How Much Did Your Props Cost?" thread in the forums. Someone mind giving me the url? Thanks. - Eric Cheah |

I saw this when it was posted in the forums and thought it was a great negative space photo. The fire creates such dramatic shapes in the sky, and the objects it's consuming are thrown into silhouette. Very powerful. |

Great colours in the flames and they look wonderful against the black. But the shape of the barn or building itself isn't a striking enough silhouette. Maybe a different viewpoint on it might have given more interesting shapes, I don't know. 5, Kavey |

so...how far would you go to win? :) I like the shot but it would have been even better if the tree was directly between you and the fire. |

Terrible for the family that lives there-or business. All the people okay? Nice photo, I don't even see a fire truck yet. Lucky capture. Good luck. Score 6 Justine |

This is a great example of negative space... I would definitely like to see a tighter crop to remove some of the 'extra' negative space from the image. There is more than enough negaive space within the confines of the 'fire' area to send a great message with this photo... good work :) - jmsetzler |

Good neg spc; I'm thinking that the fire *is* the subject here, and the composition, while decent, isn't giving me the impact I'd like to have from this shot. lhall-7 |

Very good use of negative space to enhance the subject. |
