Thanks all for your votes, comments, and a Top 15 finish!

I had taken many other shots of this guy on the phone with a couple of trains coming and going. He finally caught on to me and stared at me. I didn't realize he was looking right at me for this sequence of shots.

I tried various shutter speeds and 1/20th of second seemed to provide the right amount of blur.

He had also been standing straight with his back turned to me. When he turned around I also didn't realize he was leaning parallel to the tree, which I thought was a nice touch.

Thanks again, everybody!

Really great shot, captures the feel of that moment very well. The direct look nails it, especially - makes the viewer a participant in the scene.

Nice shot, good score, and a 14th placement, not bad...not bad at all.

Sweet finish Les! Congrats on a top-twenty placing. It's a bummer that we still can't see/vote on challenge entries that belong to DPL team members after the team has long since finished. Personally I'd have given this an 8. Nicely composed and the motion blur is a great touch.

Black & White works really good here, I love the moving train in the back.

This is great! I like the fact that he's aware of you taking the image yet seems very much in his own moment of making th call. The partially blurred train behind makes a really, really great backdrop. Composition with three and platform sign is spot on.

I really like the matching "lean" of the tree and the guy on the phone. Nicely composed.

The motion of the bus/train really helps isolate your subject nicely. Some more dramatic tones would really put this over the top. Well done!

Excellent shot. I am curious of the writing to the right of the tree. I take it that is a reflection off of a sign.
