 That's what I said on the way to the grocery store tonight.

I also learned that the sony point and shoot does not take good landscapes.

Go back and look at the thumbnail. It looks better that way.

I think this is really beautiful! I love the way the steam blends with the clouds hanging on the mountains, and the lines of clouds echo the line of the hills and mountains. I love this a lot!!

Oh my word it looks like something out of a nightmare...Such beautiful landscape cursed by human blight and pollution

It makes me think of of the line in the hymn Jerusalem

And did those feet in ancient time
walk upon England̢۪s mountains green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
on England̢۪s pleasant pastures seen?
And did the countenance divine
shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here
among these dark Satanic Mills?

Oh and by the way, stop complaining about your equipment, youd never catch me dmoaning about mine

neat image it and see what happens. i have no doubt that a photo will probably never be as beautiful as what you saw with your own eyes. love the combo of clouds and steam around the mountains.

One thing I like about this mini-challenge is that we tend to be more generous in our views and comments than we would be in a competitive challenge. So though I might not give this high points in the monthly Free Study, I think it's very good. I wish I could see more of the church in the shadow area, however, the landscape is dramatic and shows the interesting mix of nature and industry. The grain fits the image, too. Really cool photo overall.

It's cool even if the camera wasn't the greatest. The washed out color just adds to the overall feeling of pollution.
