 My husband has had this lantern away in its box at the back of the garage, as soon as I started mentioning the rolling stones songs, he could not wait to show me it, so I thought it would be nice to use it and give an old time look to the photo

I guess the image is a little overexposed maybe due to the use of the flash... It would be nice if you could change the intensity of the flash

composition is good, but it could use more contrast and the base of the lantern is jsut too blown out.

The on-camera flash is very harsh here. It would be better if it was lit with a black background IMHO. *edit* I meant it would be better if the lamp was lit against a black background. IMHO of course.
