 Today was my Sunday, and I have not been out shooting as much as I would have liked to, so today I went for a long drive. I wound up in a little town that seemed to be totally forgotten. At 10:30 in the morning, Main Street was deserted. Most of the local businesses were boarded up and the ones who were still open, all seemed to be closed for vacation. It was rather sad as I looked at the once glamorous hotel and restaurants, all closed forever.

Back in its day, this was a booming mining town. There is still a bit of mining going on, but that seems to be the only business. Most people who live here must commute to phoenix or Tucson.

I love this shot. Looks like inspiration for a Stephen King-like novel. You just look at this town and there's a story somewhere.

This looks so deserted, it is strange to learn that it is a "living" town. The mountains in the back give it the air of an old western ghost town.

Very moving image, it speaks volumes to me about desolation. Love the diagonal line of gray rocks running into the line of storefronts, excellent crop choice!
