Thank you all for your comments. Regarding the extra shadows on the side I consider that they fit well in the composition.

| this is the only photo in top 5 that shadow is the main image, or dominant...very nice photo-very dissapointed with the rest of the winners, except for this. this should have won |

| Excellent. It is almost as if the shadows on the left edge are not necessary. Probably could be a more powerful image without them. But excellent as is. |

| My eye is drawn exactly where wanted, wanders a bit, then comes back to the subject. I like the texture of the street. The umbrella on a obviously sunny day adds to the story. 7 from me. |

| I really like this, but the shadows on the LH side distract me from the figure. I think that cropping them out would have helped your composition. |

| An interesting street scene, reminds me a little of one of e301's images, though his is in black and white and the composition is stronger for me. I like the non-standard composition here too and the many repetetive lines. I like too the textures in the road and paint surface plus the dark solid black of the man and his shadow. |

| I would've liked it better if you cropped the other shadows because they distracts us from the main subject |

| I think the shadow of the person is enough here, the other shadows are very distracting,the soft morninglight is awesome here, the texture of the street as well, this could have won if those other shadows.. |
