Weighing in at just four ounces Pygmy Marmosets (Cebuella spp.) are the smallest monkeys in the world, easily fitting in the palm of your hand. They are about 15 cm long -- and this includes their seven cm tail. This shot was taken at the Crystal Gardens in Victoria, B.C. -- a conservation centre that will close its doors for good in October 2004 because it doesn't make enough money. This little guy was sitting right under a red heat lamp enjoying his human visitors. I adjusted the colour levels slightly to make the little guy look less red. These charismatic, inquisitive creatures are native to the rainforests of western Brazil, southeastern Colombia, eastern Ecuador, and eastern Peru.

This looks a bit grainy and not too sharp focus but I am guessing it may be taken through glass
He/she is cute though and it does fit the challenge.

That's a cute monkey. The colors look strange - is that really green on its back or the reflections from the foliage behind it?

That lamp really causes a horrible colour cast. I tried converting it to greyscale and adjusting the levels and it looks a whole lot better.

Heat lamp, that would explain the off colors. Nice composition. Good job.

Great composition, but focus on subject could of been improved.

I love this little fellow and his expression. Dead on the theme. The light seems to be a bit green, not sure about the color balance on him.

Shutter looks just a little slow to really get this guy frozen. The picture is just the slightest bit soft. Good composition and I really like the framing of this little guy. Good work 7

Nice. The branch in back is a bit distracting though I don't think it should be taken out, maybe just dodged a little...?

What a beautiful monkey - an exotic face. The red of the heat lamp is a bit distracting, could you desaturate the red a bit? The focus is a bit soft or resolution low- this must be at a distance through glass, a difficult situation.
