I think the exposure is perfect - the high contrast of the background helps to blow away the details of the roadside and the sky which would otherwise compete with the horse. This is a great example of creatively breaking rules to your advantage. Your effective use of DOF also helps complete this effect. Very surreal. Great job. |

A wholly wonderful strangeness to this picture. (I've spent hours lying in my neighbor's driveway next to passing traffic but haven't got anything as good as this). |

I have long since given up how voting works here, but I'm glad you made the top 20 and got the picture in your top line. This really stood out as being different - Well done. |

Wow I really love this one. Composition is great and the colors or lack of them works nicely. |

You really did get several things right in this shot, but a couple of things stand out. It seems like the horse is out of focus - I say seems because almost everything seems out of focus in the composition. The other is the blown sky, but that's a minor quibble as it could have worked just fine if you had the focus right. You could have set a smaller aperture (f/16 or so) in order to get deeper depth of field, extending your focus to the background. This would have saved your sky & made the tree silhouette more pleasing. You would have needed a longer exposure, but that would have made drips on the water disappear & provided a smooth, dreamy surface surrounding the horse. |

The horse looks a little out of place compared to the lighting/contrast in the rest of the photo. |
