A fluke, basically. I was thinking about/experimenting with freezing motion with rear curtain flash. There's altogether too much ambient light in this picture, but as luck would have it there was a little darkness and a reflecting wheel rim down at street level :)

Quite clever and intriguing. Reminds me of some children's thing that would create interesting designs but I'll be darned if I know what that was. And I'm betting there's some equation that would describe the pattern, but I'll be darned if I could figure that out these days either. Your picture makes me feel old. :-)

Oh, this is wonderful! This would be such a hit in our blur challenge, which I have come to appreciate blur in a whole new way since participating in that. It's such a great composition. The blur is used perfectly.
