 This shot was taken of a longhorn Highland cow. I live in a very rural, very affluent part of New England - where people keep animals just for the fun of it. I enjoyed the way the light was playing off the cow's face, and he was patient enough to stare at me for an extended period of time.

What a wonderful subject. I have taken photos of similar cows on the Isle of
Skye and really feel close to them. That being said, it feels more like a portrait than a rural landscape.

This looks just like a cow picture my friend from Germany took. I like the centered composition, but I'm not fond of the noise, especially on the right side of the photo.

Is this a landscape? I haven't been mentioning DNMC for shots where the landscape isn't the subject, but this one goes over the line. The only landscape is a patch of grass.

what a lovely photo great detail, but I feel sorry for it with the flies on its nose, poor beast, but I cannot feel that it fits the challenge as there is no landscape, sorry
