 As in "bereft of ideas"

Actually I just got a nifty soft box and a strobe (a Cheap one -ebay). Unfortunately I forgot that my Pentax ist does not have a PC Sync connection, so the sync cord is useless. This of course means I am now waiting again for ebay shipping to send me the wireless hot-shoe sync that I should have bought to begin with.

Not one who likes to wait, I had to play anyway. This pic involved the following:
1. kill all the lights in the room
2. turn on the modeling lamp on the strobe.
3. with camera on tripod, aimed at subject, let auto-focus do it's thing
4. switch to manual focus
5. turn off modeling lamp
6. press shutter on camera set to 1 1/2 second exposure
7. while shutter is open, hit test button on the strobe.

All that and I got this picture.

I count myself fortunate that Chuck Norris never kills the pathetic.
