I was off from work this past Friday. Should have gotten a haircut...nah...my hair is longer then it has ever been! Even in the '70's!! Can you imagine...well don't...it's going this week. I should have burnt CD's to clear up HD space. Nah. Too much like work...well not really but I did not feel up too it. I should have gone to the florists for subjects. Nah....too much money, too much walking. Gone out and shoot...nah more walking. Feh!

One of the few things I did manage to do was to corner the neighborhood hardware stores (yes stores....there are two around the corner about a half block from each other on the same side of the street....wondering which one is going to go....I have my vote ready for the keeper if it ever comes up!) 0f 11/32nd" wing nuts. I bought the one store out and most of the other. So if you are in the Wash West area of Philly and need 11/32nd" wing nuts, I got them. Of course you could get in your car and go to Home Depot or Lowe's but why bother....at $50 a piece you can save the gas, about the cost of one tank or so, and come by and pick them up. I take Paypal and I want a D200! LOL!

Shot on a light box with the ambient light of the box alone.

Post: Convert from raw in PSElements 3.0 with a +0.33 exposure compensation. Layer ajustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation. Cleand up shmootz on the box surface....remind me to clean it the next time, OK? Crop. Layer of curves. Sharpen. Resize. Sharpen.

Another nice job, Robert! I love the different concept for the challenge, and of course your shot is spot-on as usual. :) Oh, and thanks for the whole story!

What a cool take on this challenge. The abstract is so amazingly cool looking! You are a genius at turning the ordinary into the extraordinary.

I love your stories :) They're half the fun of your aweseome photos :)

Neat thinking. Perhaps you might have taken it further into the realm of birds with some kind of common flight formation - the classic V for example. But as a set-up shot, in this challenge, its rather enchanting.

Non-traditional and inventive. I like the pattern repeating off into the blurry distance and the interesting light on the threads. 8.
