Wowww I almost didn't see this one ... perfect focus in the brush ... love it, love it love it ... 10 from me.

I think the shallow depth of field didn't work out for this shot.

great idea maybe cropped a little too close but very clever

I think this is good, but might be better if the ink were less dominant and the marks on the paper were less obscured.

looks more of Paper and Brush, a higher DoF would help

Very impressive use of DOF! Really makes you focus on the brush and the immediate surrounding brush strokes on the paper.

Two minor things I would have fixed:
1. Small miscellaneous dot on the downstroke on the left.
2. Tighter cropping on the left side to eliminate the gray corner in the lower left.

One thing I may have done differently:
Place the bottle behind the brush or brushstrokes and still apply DOF.

I realize you want the bottle out of focus, but I think it may have gone a bit too far. Good idea and good setup.

Too bad the ink bottle is out of focus, nice effect.

nicely composed, but I don't care for the out of focus inkwell being in the foreground. I think it distracts from the subject. I like shallow DOF, but would tend to place the secondary objects in the back so they do not dominate the image.

The ink bottle looks blurred - my attention goes to the bottle and it's a little distracting.

I don't like how the bottle is out of focus and I feel this image would look cleaner with a white tone, rather than the current yellowish one it has

The level of sharpening used really upsets the overall feel. The brights stand out too much, especially noticable on the handle of the brush. Nice idea, though. 5
