Auto Levels -- Burn & Dodge

Thanks to my beautiful wife who was the model for this shot.

Well I hope that everyone enjoys this picture. I feel that it fits the challenge perfectly. I spent a lot of time going back and forth between different shots and in the end picked this one because of the lines and shadows. I will post the "runner up" photo after the challenge is over.

I would greatly appreciate all comments and feeling that you get from my photo.

FYI -- This is my first attempt at a Studio type shot.

Very good idea! Good tones, seems to not have enough DOF though, and I think it would have been good to leave all of her lips in.

Great idea, but I find the lips distracting.

Nice soft focus effect, but I would like to see all of the lip if possible in this type of crop...

I would have included the other corner of the lips as well

Nicely done, the unusual crop really works well. Great lips.

Good angle. Nicely done in B & W.

This photo has a cold and hard look to it...is that what you wanted? It's not appealing to me. The right part of the woman's lips are cut off and I would have preferred this image in warmer tones and much softer looking. Maybe with the lipstick and pearls in color. Not sure if the focus is off, or the glare producing a blurred look to me.

nice angle and close up. would like to see a tad better focus on the pearls. ... maybe even your hand lightly touching them. a bit grey scale..
all this is nit-picky, because I think this is generally a pleasing photograph.

Composition is great but focus seems too soft to me.

They go well together. The composition, capture, elements are all fine. I'm not moved by the photo, though. 5
