detail from a much bigger picture. A woman accidentally walked into my picture frame, I was doing an experiment taking pic. opposite a strong lightsource. This was the outcome. She was like an alien in the doorway.

I've just come across this 10 years after you shot it (one thing leads to another). I'm very pleased to have seen it!

This is sooo weird but I really like it. It's very eery and the grain and limited range of greys adds to that. It's reminds me of that Canadian show where the guy is like "I'm going to crush your head, crush your head"...

Very interesting! Curious how you did this (is it a reflection?). The negative space here is cloudy and uncertain, which adds tremendously to the eerie manifestation of this "alien". It is like the best of the famous shots of Big Foot or the Loch Ness Monster, which are always *just* blurry enough to convince some and frustrate others. This photo holds my attention again and again. 8

Great pic for a horror novel! How'd you do it? The only way I'd know to do it is with PS so I'd like the details on how to do it with the camera. It looks really cool. ~indigo997

very cool use of - space :)
09/16/2002 05:38:00 PM
interesting. so the neg. space is everything but the "alien"? I think that is fair to say. without the background (neg. space) the person wouldn't appear to look like that, so I think you used the neg. space well to achieve the effect of your photo. Great job and good luck in the challenge. ~hbunch7187~
