Greetings from the Critique Club:
First off, this certainly meets the challenge, snow and skiing go together naturally. Overall the impression I get from the image, however, is a bit flat and dull. I believe that much of this is due to the falling snow and therefore poor light. The yellow of the ski suit seems to sort of bleed out into snow color which is unfortunate even if it is not very noticeable, The tongue stuck out is a great touch. It would have been great to really get the feeling of motion here, or the exhaustion of a hard finish. As it is It seems a bit manufactured which may be very unfair to the image or its potential. Cropping out the tree line might be a way to give the image a stronger impact, and then intensifying the yellow so that the emotional impact of the race is more available. |

This framing seems almost how I 'd do it. I would've made the skiier a little further back, toward the right of the frame and left more room in front of her so she has a place to go. Exposure is just a little dark and there looks like there's a sunflare or something else weird on the window of the cabin behind the trees.7 |

He looks like he's having fun, and almost gives the impression of motion. The clean background gives it away - it would be blurred if he were going at any speed. |

You captured the exhilaration of this skiier enjoying the serindipity of skis and snow. Sure does meet the Challenge. 9 |

No sense of motion and a white spot in the top (falling snowflake stopped with high speed shutter?) make this a bit uninteresting. |
