This was a shot of the sun behind some clouds as I was driving home the other day. I wanted the building in the shot to show some details as far as we are still on Planet earth and show that it wasn't just a boring shot of clouds. The same was for the power lines, but after reading some comments I wish I would have taken them out.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my picture.

love the rays! contrary to what others may have said, i love the building and the power lines, people are so critical to power lines, but they sometimes really add to pictures, and to me, they add to this.

The power lines are definately a bit distracting. I like how the buildig has very little detail which allows the viewer to concentrate on the clouds.

Great processing, I've tried skies before and could never get them to look right in B&W. Nice job.

I like the clouds and the rays. The B&W makes the house and the lines less disturbing.

Beautiful clouds. I really like how you captured the rays of the sun. My eye either wants to see more or less in the bottom of the frame.

BEAUTIFUL .. congrats on being in the right place at exactly the right time and then processing this wonderful scene so excellently .. talk about drama .. the suns rays coming out from behind that cloud and the way the cloud is just about translucent is stunning .. :)
edit to add .. i actually like the power lines and the building on the right & the framing effect it gives to this image ..

"WOW" this is really something, as the play of light, behind those clouds is totally awesome.....
What a great capture to start with, perfect transition to "Black & White, for this side challenge.....
(My only suggestion is, that I like to see you clone out the power lines, on the left, to make this image really pop.....

Great clouds. Um, do I see a little oversharpening in the building?
Doesn't matter. You chose a good subject for a B&W and a nice way to start off the 30 days.

Thanks for setting this side challenge up. Should be fun.

Love the clouds some spots are blown out on my monitor though. The Power lines are a bit distracting IMHO. Nice Sun Rays above the clouds.
