Challenge: Things That Go Together (Advanced Editing I)
Camera: Canon EOS-10D
Location: home
Date: Feb 1, 2004
Aperture: 16
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/3
Date Uploaded: Feb 1, 2004

Simple studio set up shot at home, minimal editing in Photoshop involving curves, saturation, contrast mask and a resize. I also used the blur tool to blur a speck of dust in the top left corner which I have yet to get around to removing from my CCD. Curves were used to find a white and black point and increase the mid tone contrast and brighten the image slightly.

You opened the book at a good page - the green in the picture sets off the mostly black and white in the rest of it. It also goes nicely with the touches of orange in the glasses frames.

Yes, we need our glasses to see the written word. Nicely thought out and photographed beautifully. Wonder how you got that imperceptable fade at the rear. Hope your photographer's notes tell me after the Challenge. 9

This version of this common subject matter brings nothing fresh or interesting and you've ignored the top third of the photo.

nice and sharp, but I think the illustration in the foreground detracts from the glasses.

Not so bad. I just don't think that having a lot of the frame in green was a great idea. Crisply shot, though. 5
