 Taken at Acadia National Park at Sand Beach.

I used a filter that purposely softened my model. I really wanted a soft look to capture the feeling of innocent curiousity here.

What̢۪s she looking for? The soft look your looking for is achieved by applying a Gaussian blur with a low amount like around 2.5ish. Once it's applied you can lower the opacity to fade it out some.

Always nice playing on the beach. I like the composition, but the girl could be a little sharper.

Great scene, great tones, great composition. There ya go - 3 'greats' from someone who feels like chewing his arm off when presented with a toddler shot.

Something to try here - I can't tell if the focus landed on the ground behind her, but if the focus is correct then you might want to hit this with another shot of USM or (preferabbly) smart sharpen after you resize it. Resizing before save for web tens to muddy things up and you can usually correct for it with a modest application of sharpening again.

nice use of the rule of thirds. could've been a bit sharper tho. overall lovely shot for the family album.
