Well, I think this one is more than "okay". It is reeeeeallly good! It's such an interesting composition! And perfect in its sharp/soft balance. I love it.

The problem with shooting fish in fish tanks is that almost always you're talking low light - very low light. Slow shutter speed. Tripod, timer or remote release. In addition, you're shooting through plastic or glass, not to mention water, all of which can distort an image or blur it. Now, add an active fish (remember the slow shutter speed because of low light?) What you've got is blur. Sounds like a good subject for a tutorial. Your best chance is what you got in this shot - a relative docile fish and lots of luck.
I like the color version a lot better - I had trouble figuring out the fish in the B&W. I think it is great that you're pushing the envelope and trying something new & different. One of the best pieces of advice I ever got in photography - don't hesitate to shoot - even in situations where the picture isn't supposed to come out - sometimes it works anyhow. Some of my favorite shots are hand held at very slow shutter. (Of course, the delete button gets a fair workout from these attempts, too.)

Tones are definately much better in this one. Little soft but that is probably because you are shooting through glass. Love the shallow DOF and composition. |

I really like the subject matter and the contrasting shapes (solid fish vs wavy tentacle-like things). Agree that focus is an issue -- might try some heavy duty sharpening (before you reduce the size) to see if you can salvage it some. |

Yes, I agree with the other commenters, if it were in focus, wow. |

Focus could be better, same as all my fish tank shots... |
