 Taken at my work bench - in the garage. Nothing too fancy - used a flashlight perched on my lap to brighten the iron and solder, and shot in manual mode at 1/60 second to eliminate blur. Very little processing - levels, cropped and flipped, sharpened. Then saved and ran through Neat Image to get rid of some graininess in the smoke.

Beautiful, another wonderful ribbon winner. The colours and textures in the droplet are really appealing and the "tick" shaped composition works so well.

Guess that new G5 paid off: 1 challenge, 1 ribbon. :) Too bad my Shallow DOF entry won't follow suit. :(

my favorite in the challenge. great colors. I like the shape and texture of the solder blob and the long exposure, blurring the steam.

Nice effect with fumes coming off the iron. Would like to see a closer crop on the to the left, but still a nice photo.

One of my favorites so far. Fits the challenge and I like the composition and the lighting. The lighting at the end and on the smoke, with the slight purplish tint is nice. Good luck in the challenge.
