Bryan, that is a great shot. Congratulations. And, don't worry about the one comment that said it DNMC. That user seemed to leave those notes on others (mine included) shots in this contest.
Great shot.

Ignore the DNMC comments. I think that the imagination, creativity, and technical quality meets it perfectly. It really does look like you are standing in an otherworldly place waiting for the portal to open. What's really cool is that the design in and around the water actually gives the illusion of the portal shimmering, hence, in the process of opening.
Don't let anyone take away the joy of your ribbon, you earned it with this picture. Very nicely done. |

This completely meets the challenge on many different levels. It's unfortunate that some aren't as open to the amount of creativity you put into the photo. Well done. |

I love this shot, there's all sorts of crazy stuff going on. It's hard to pin down the angles of the rocks or the overall scale when looked at in detail, only by pulling back does the lay of the land make itself apparent, but by then it's impossible to process all that info at once, so instead of seeing the image as a meaningful environment, there's only an impression of the shape.
And it is staring at me.

Nice shot and congrats on the ribbon. Have you looked at it flipped on the vertical? Or rotated 180 degrees? |
