with a little more controll of levels or contrast in your editing program, this could be a very good shot. I see redish squares around each spark -very distracting...

I like the look of the sparks. I like this shot, the lighting and all. I like this shot how it is, but I wonder how it would look if you took a couple and each time do a faster shutter speed and see if you can just get tiny dots instead of lines. Just to see what that would look like. It might make it too dark though. 9

I like how the light illuminates part of the welder, but the rest looks completely dark. how would/did a horizontal framing look? karmat

Pretty good. Try moving the subject out of the central area of the image

Fantastic idea. The photo shows a lot of video-artifacts, though, which may actually be due to overexposure. Stopping down the lens, if possible could help, as could dropping the EV.
