| If the photo had something with a soft focus in the foreground to indicate a 'Shallow Depth of Field' I would have given it another point. |

| Nice background. Lends a nice tone to the fern even though it's not the same color yet. Nice details on the new fern shoot. I might have cropped the bottom a bit closer as the edge as it is now is a bit uneven. 7. |

| This works for a few reasons. First, great shallow DOF. ALL of the main subject is crisp and very much so in focus...not to mention interesting. The fern/foliage all comes into the frame from different angles bringing the eye right to the main subject ! Lines at a angle add drama and that WOW factor to a photo. ALL of this gives this photo impact. The DOF is just enough to be shallow yet add to the photo. I hope you do well and others see this for what it is...GREAT ! |
