 Well this was a tough one for me. I had two ideas, and I feel this is the best one. I feel this really capture's motion, but I also feel this is close to "snapshot" material. This image was harder to capture than it looks. Took many tries. I used a slow shutter speed so that I could capture the movement of the balloon moving up.

Perfectly fits the theme; wonderful sharp focus on the hand (well, most of it!), the balloon is captured perfectly to suggest flight, and the background is excellent so my eyes stay on the subject. Giving it a 9 and have to believe it's a top ten (top five?) finisher!

Niiiice! I cried when I let go of a beautiful balloon once but then I saw it soaring away and I felt better.

Very nice shot! great composition and lighting. The duotone background is very interesting. I can almost hear the balloon....

I like the concept. However, I think this would have worked better if you could clear up the balloon part. It is difficult to tell that this is a balloon. Being a newbie, I am certainly no expert on HOW to change that ;-), but others here may be able to provide that info.
