This was a tough one to create, but easy to shoot. Maybe I should leave stuff like inserting oranges into apples for Scalvert :-) Thank goodness this one is advanced editing, because there were some ugly edges where the orange got inserted. The chip is just a small piece paper with a graphic-like design cut out and stuck to the apple. Shot on black cloth in my light tent on the kitchen counter. Auto WB worked best here.

Hopefully it will connect with the viewers and not look too much like an advertisement.

Wow, you have taken the leap into serious creativity -- creating the shot, I mean. This is really a good step for you, IMO. You were always good at spotting and capturing a good photo, and you have mastered PP. This will take the final restrictions off your ability to create art with your camera. I can't wait for more of these.

BTW, I think this is a great success. Excellent color, clarity, and composition.

I actually scored it a bit low. The techniques are terrific, I just felt the theme was too forced. But as always you have a strong command of the camera. Love the title.

I would prefer the right side not orange. Maybe a electronic product would be better.

The Ipod and the cable destroy the image visually for me. Would have been a visually interesting image with a tight crop around the apple and the USB plug as the stem.

The original concept is of course the image of the apple with a pair of earphones plugged in. The setup you have here is incongruous, an iconic Apple Ipod plugging into an apple??

I think the photo would have been perfect with just the apple and the i-pod. The orange and what looks to be some type of micro-chip are distracting and don't add anything IMO.
