 Farmers are beginning to burn their rice fields after they are harvested. This fire was a few miles from the school where I work. You are looking at our football field. By the time I ran and got my camera the plume from the ground was gone. The smoke hung around for an hour or so.

Great shot, I thought it was a cloud in the thumbnail. Excellent contrasts, gotta love the blue sky.

My parents live in Marysville, CA and are surrounded by rice fields. I have to make a note to myself to visit them during this time of year to catch the burning fields. :) That's a great looking sky.

I honestly don't remember, but if I had to guess, I think not. I darkened the sky in pp with selective colors> cyan and blue.

They grow rice in California? At least the burning fields put off nice white smoke. Nice blue sky and white smoke.
