Wow 6th, I didn’t think this would come so high. The picture was taken in Salford Quays (Manchester, England), It’s a housing and business development, built on old dock land, hence the canal. The buildings hidden by trees were partially designed my farther, who was an architect until he retired. The total lack of people isn’t abnormal its usually like this, although the houses are mostly inhabited there is hardly ever anybody on the streets, which always makes it seem slightly spooky. And thank you for all the comments about the sky, It had been really nice weather all week until my day off which was overcast. D’oh! |

Nice detail, but the building is a little too centered in the picture |

Very nice image. Perfectly centered. I just wish it was on a clearer day -- the impact would've been so much more. |

Yes, its symmetric but otherwise not very interesting... I want there to be more life (i.e., people) and brigher colors. (BTW, my dtr disagrees with my assessment of the colors!) |

Too simple, and the subject's too far back. |

nice setup; the tiniest bit crooked; it's like some kind of contemporary wonderland, a nice feeling; the colors run together a little bit, I guess that's the tones, maybe? |

nice view. I think the pic might have been stronger if it was taken with the camera on its side, and focused solely on the main building, trees and the water. |

nice shot but too bad the sky was so washed out. This happens to me all the time. Just not the right day, or time of day. |

The symmetry works well here, shame it wasn't a brighter day. |

Nice choice .... if only you could have had a deep blue sky with puffy white clouds! |

I love this picture! Excellent!! Great framing, beautiful subject! The only drawback is that it might be a little dark, but I guess that's because it was cloudy? |

Yes it is symetric. Where is this? It looks like a 21st century version of the Taj Mahal. |

Beautiful picture. I don't know which is more eerie - the almost perfect symmetry or the absolute lack of people! Where is everyone? |

If you're going for crazy symmetry, you should have the building appear to sit *completely* vertical, it feels tilted to the right. I'd love to see this shot taken on a calm day, with a clear reflection in the water! A more dramatic sky could improve it a lot, too. |
