 Experimenting with techniques I got from a book. Liked this one, though I'll probably get hammered for it.

Converted from RAW, cropped, selective colour to bring up the purple, resized, USM twice, saved for web.

So delicate and soft re the flower and feel the background is just a tad to strong and dramatic, for such a beautiful delicate tulip.
The lighting is wonderful as one can almost see right through the delicate transparent petats....

Very pretty shot of this flower. My main suggestion would be to crop out most of the are below and to the right, so only a bit of stem shows and the right edge of the flower is close to the right of the photo.

For the flower itself, it strikes me as kind of caught between glowing softly and being sharp enough to see the texture. Have you heard of the gothic glow action in Photoshop? I recommend trying it. It's usually too strong for me so I drop it over the original and reduce the opacity some. You can download it for free at //atncentral.com/download.htm
