This is where I run during the week on my lunch hour when the weather permits. Today it was nice and warm and perfect weather for a run but my foot was swollen from Saturday's run (not sure why) so it was picture time instead.
I tried HDR again and this is a combination of 7 images. I decided to try merging in PS instead of Photomatix and the results were a bit better, but it took about 30 minutes to process with PS running at 90% on a fairly fast computer. After HDR merge, I tonemapped a bit, created a second layer. Lightened and then blurred second layer, set blending mode to multiply. Sharpened background copy. then applied levels to both layers and tweaked until light was more balanced. Just a bit of hue/sat and then Nik Efex Foliage filter, which really made the greens pop. Crop a bit off sides ,resize, sharpen, save for web.
I think this type of editing has a lot of potential but will take a lot more work to perfect. One of the originals for comparison:

the processing of this is really creepy -- normally not my thing with the soft focus and all -- but it's really cool. |

Wow! It's very striking and beautiful. This is my kind of photo. Soft and dreamy without sacrificing focus and sharpness. I'm surprised tho that you did better with the Photoshop HDR feature than Photomatix. Hmmmm. Guess I better try that.
Anyway, this is just stunning. It makes fall look so inviting. I can't wait until it arrives in Texas!

I like the soft light coming through the trees. Interesting finish. I've tried HDR several times, but can't seem to get a look I like. This is good. |

How pretty. I like the softened glow feel of it. Wonderful colors and play of shadow and light. |

The PP really gave this a soft focus almost like a painting. It's more interesting than the one original, but almost looks like it was taken while you were on your run. I like the color combination. I have never tried HDR and wouldn't know where to start. |
