This is a great subject, but its a little too straightforward for my tastes. I'd like to see it at a little bit of an alternative perspective. I think the biggest thing is is that it is taken from too close of a proximity. step back a little and find something that has some interest besides the water. Good thought, just a little bit plain for me.

this is a nice composition. It has a lot of texture to it! Very professionally done. Overall, however, the image seems to be lacking something to grab my attention. The lighting is perhaps a little flat, maybe if this was taken at sunset with more dramitic lighting coming in from an angle it would be a 10! -8 from me.

Nice textures on the rocks and logs. IMHO the shutter speed is too fast - the water looks solid, rather than blurred moving liquid.

Good long exposure, like how the water isn't just on the middle of the shot, it's tumbling from the other rocks too. However, had you made this a little sharper it would have made everything stand out more.

How can I compete against this??? Wonderful composition with beautiful tones and contrast and technically so well done. I love the natural muted colors. You've really met the challenge well. Very well done.
