Thanks for all the comments, everyone.
As most of you recognized, yes, of course, I employed a tripod and slow shutter speed (f 8.0 : 1/30) to render what is here.
A speed slower than this would have tranquilized the beast to a point of false pleasantry, uncharacteristic of the given. To provide an idea of the sheer size and volume of the falls, the image represents approximately one third of the total cascade. |

I totally blew my vote on this one and rating it way lower than it should have been rated. Because of the size of the image, David was cut off on my monitor unless I scrolled down, which I didn't and therefore I didn't see the impact of this shot. My apologies. This is an excellent image! |

Why oh why is this down in 18th? Crazy. This was always in the ribbons for me. |

From thumbnail to final size, a mundane metaphor swings into geological extravaganza. Deceptive shape shifting, spectacular and entertaining. |

The waterfall capture here is fantastic. The person adds scale, but on the other hand, somewhat detracts from the natural scenic beauty. |

Incredible, humbling sense of scale in this rugged scene. Well composed too. Love it. [10] |

I think that the picture would have been better minus the human element. Great Waterfall! The person definitely gives a better idea of how big it really is though. But, to me, the size of the waterfall is irrelevant as it is a truly magnificent one. |

Really nice - the shutter speed is just slow enough to create a sheet of water but not so slow as to make it look like snow. The texture on the rocks comes through really well, and the figure at the bottom shows the scale of the falls. |

Great shot! The person helps me to measure the size of the fall... Nice job. |

the person at the bottom makes this shot. without him there is no scale at all. very cool shot with the person. without him just average. |

The best "water" in the competition and the best overall shot (imho!) I like the scale (the person makes it great!) the blurring water softens the rock. Lighting is wonderful. One of my picks for a ribbon |

Wow, when I first saw the top part, I thought it was a little water flow thru some rocks until I saw the person standing there. What a great place and a nice shot too. |

i don't really get the feeling that david is defying goliath so much as.. something outside of the picture towards the right ;) I would like this photo more if he were staring up at the falls. speaking of which, where is this? |

I like the composition. It's very difficult to make a waterfall look amazing like that. |
