Great idea. One hardly notices the pencil among the other perches. I like the partial desat effect. It seems a bit over sharpened to me (the white lines below the pencil, perches, and feeder).

Good composition and setup. Personally I would have liked to see a little more color in the pencil but maybe thats not what you were going for?
