Too much light coming from below the shell combined with the focus. The out of focus item probably should not be the center of attention.

Cool colors. I think cropping off the bottom and far left sections so that there was no "light" shining through would have made this shot more mysterious and interesting.

seashells by the seashore. Very abstract. A good way of capturing the essence of texture without burdening the image with other information. Great job.

Despite the focus, there is a sense of differing textures here - or perhaps more accurately differing shapes. Not convinced by the compositional arrangement of them though - seems quite bluntly organise dinto two bands, and the lines and forms don't lead the eye comfortably through the picture. 5

The focus and ilghting really detract from this photo IMO. It could have been an interesting shot, I think, with more clarity and attention to lighting.
