 Texture does not necessarily mean rough, and I thought it personally more of a challenge to stay away from a rough texture and try to present smooth. Being the chocoholic I am, the use of chocolate came to mind. The smooth, creamy texture of melted chocolate wasn't easy to photograph! And there is one small white spot on the far left side of the chocolate that I can't clone out here, but will after the challenge. I'm not sure what it is.

First I had to decide how to present it and came up with the strawberry idea...also some interesting texture. Then I had to decide how to present the strawberry, as I really didn't want fingers in the photo. Didn't want it in a dish either, so I ended up with an inverted wineglass being used as a pedestal.

The chocolate was melted milk chocolate chips with added paraffin for flow.

I wanted a smooth, silky background so I bought a 1/2 yard of blue satin fabric. Lighting was a combination of lamps. It was a challenge trying to get enough light on the berry and chocolate wiithout blowing out the shine on the fabric. Still could've used more light on the subject. Time to invest in some lights.

This looks like your background is in focus and your forground is out focus. Try messing with your f-stop. Great idea though.

Beautiful shot. My only suggestion would be a faster shutter speed if possible to better catch the smoothness of the pouring chocolate.

Very nice setup, interesting composition. A bit of blown highlight on the juice/syrup... but it doesn't really bother me that much.

blue is distracting to beautiful warm red color of berry. White would be more appealing as backdrop...white matte board works best!

I think this would really benefit from the subject being dead center in the frame, each side an even distance from the edges of the picture.

Interesting shot with nice composition and contrasting colors. The chocolate is blurry (not sure that works) and the dying leaves makes the strawberry a bit unappetizing.

If you could have found a Strawberry whit fresher leafs this photo would be close to perfeckt. The whole thing would grab me straight away but like that it kills this exotic flavor over the photo.
I have seen many strawberrys in this theme but this is the best so far.
It just hurts a littel too see a symbol failure like that destroying the vipes in a perfeckt photo like that. 7

yum! smooth texture captured in your stop action pour. blue background doesn't compiment colors - suggest you use lighting more to pull subject from the background

Okay, now I'm hungry, and I don't even like strawberries. Great color capture on this! The blue background really gives it a hint of elegance. Black might be nice too, but it may have made it too dark.

There is at least texture here - though let down by a weak and disorganised picture: the shape of that spill of chocolate, the cropping, the munber of elements to take the eye.
