 Collected these bird feathers from a bird store I worked in, and glued them to make a bird to remind me of all my favorites I cares for,,,,,To get the texture theme I couldnt show the whole bird or I would of lost the texture to the feathers,,,I used a magnify glass over my lens to help the effect.....

I like the texture, and realistic color, most posters would have over enhanced this shot, DOF is a little soft on the upper right corner. Over all a really good picture�

I like this one it's really great. But imo i think a more focus on the hole picture would make it stand out more. But really nice picture love the colors.

The layering with the feathers is a interesting composition. Great capture of the graduations in the feathers. Gave you a "10' on this shot. Too many to comment on and wasn't able to get to comment in the voting stage.

This is the best feather picture I have seen. Everybody else has been getting too close up, but this shows the texture of the feathers without having to try to figure out what it is you are actually looking at.

There have been several good feather entries in this texture challenge and all, including yours, fit it nicely. Yours is well seen and quite nicely composed. It could be a bit more in focus and in this case, I'd give the advice that sometimes "less is more." Nevertheless it is a creditable entry and a nice job.

Top left feather is nice the rest just don't fit to me, not clear, sharp. Maybe just that one feather or have the other feathers with a meaning not just a collection or just a part of the background. 5

Great texture indeed - I doubt that slight banding visible in the spines of each feather is avoidable in a digital image at this resolution. There seems to be just a slight variation in focus through the image - not like a shallow dof at all, but things in foreground are just drifting out of focud, which when its such a small amount is perhaps a problem, and the overall set-up is confusing, too disorganised, maybe.

Only textures for 2 or three feathers are plenty visible. A good macro shoot. I like the colors but prefer to see an isolated object with more details.

Deeper depth of field would have helped here. This could be interesting everywhere sine the colors are good, and you arranged the feathers very well.

+ Lots of textures to be seen here.
- Photo could use more DOF (perhaps you should have put all the feather onto one plain?), at some points the picture feels a little soft.
