| I knew this was yours! I believe it deserved a better placing yet by my scores so far that's not a good indicator. Things are indeed delightfully nice in your part of the world. I'll find some of those Hamilton photos I took to scan one to show you what an 'unfair' advantage you have down there! I can't wait to see what you do with the Southern Cross! Does it make an interesting 'Star Trail'? |

| Excellent picture. The color contrast is perfect. White balance is a bit on the brighter side. Slightly darker picture could have captured the texture of petals too. |

| Are you sure that's a rose? I wish the thorns had been in focus instead of the flower, or both. |

| IMHO you should've focused on the thorns because that shows more texture than the flower. |

| nice use of the thorns to frame out in interesting aspect of your composition. To make this solid image a bit better, I'd like to see the foreground in crisp focus (since thorns are in your title) |

| Well lit, and I suspect a genuinely 'found' subject, but the leaves are distracting, and the stalk being almost exactly on the edge of the focal plane is confusing. Visually, the texture seems to be primarily visible on that stalk, and yet it's barely in focus - makes the image confusing and rather odd. |
