The 8:1 lighting is fantastic. I also enjoy how the white lace seems to fade into the dark. This is a wonderfully composed image.

I like this one very much, I almost want to touch the screen to feel the surface.
I think you do well in the contest. An 8 from me
(forgive me my poor English)

gefeliciteerd,
Harm

Lighting adds interest. An evenly lit pic of the entire ball would have been boring.

This is fab! Not sure on the Sq format, would position the white middle part nearer the bottom right corner myself. But nevertheless great shot 9 JB shot?

Nice composition, effective lighting. I like the way the laces fade to the background.

Blending the light and shadow makes this more than just a picture of a ball, but still not that interesting.

Perfect. I can't imagine a better photograph of a football. I'm giving you a 10 and I don't even like football.

I'm back to comment. Nice detail on the texture. The lighting/darkness is perfect. Perspective is great.

Better than most.Very good on the lacing, not wholly convinved by the composition. Has real mood, which puts it above the field to start with.

One of my favorites from the moment I started browsing. Very dramatic light and it's ALL about texture! Beautiful! 9

Like the composition, subject matter and DOF but would like to have seen a bit of fill on the left so it is not completely in shadow.

Like this one alot, including the title. Great texture. Would have liked just a little more light to the left. Focus seems right on and the composition is good. I like the laces all leading away from the viewer.

Good subject for this challenge. Nicely composed and lit (though the lace is a tad burned, hard to avoid), should do well.

Nice shot and as a football fan, this would make a good photo to frame or have as my wall paper on my computer.
