Boy did I mess up with this one! I was just too lazy to change the border after I uploaded it! Doh! Never mind I have learnt my lesson, Thanks to all for your comments. Took the photo on the kitchen worktop and used flash to try and obliterate the pattern on the worktop but I still had some under the shadow of the boot. I have always wanted a pair of Cuban Heel boots and when I was in Madrid last year I finally got them!

I reckon the yellow frame just destroyed the "Black"... |

Nice idea, but the lighting is a bit harsh |

I can get by with the high key treatment of black boots. In fact this is pretty darn good job of high key black though you are blown out on the left heel. However, the yellow border has absolutely no place here. It is the first thing I see and the last. Lose the yellow border, tone it down JUST a touch and you have a great shot here.

You GO, cowgirl! (Why'd you have to put that ridiculous yellow frame around a nice photo that never did you any harm???) |

The feeling to me is that the light is a little harsh and the yellow doesn't do your picture justice. Maybe a little darker background and changeing the boarder to black if you are using a white background or white for black or darker background. Nice picture thu! |

I don't know what compelled you to use a bright yellow border (particularly in a "black" challenge), but it certainly doesn't seem to enhance my experience of the shot. |

The pattern that shows up in the shadow is a bit strange. Also seems like we need to see more of the shoes. |

I know that you heard it before, but dump the yellow border. It takes but dosen't give here. Lighting a bit harsh here but I like the composition and effect. |

Interesting choice of border. The color of sunshine and happiness. You must feel good when you wear these boots! The only thing I would think about improving is the heel, or lack thereof. |

I think this would have been much stronger without the border, or at least with a border of a different color... |
