I had an afternoon appointment today and on the way home I thought I'd try some DWS, Driving-While-shooting, in the most safest way possible. :)

This was one where I just randomly pointed the camera and shot and it's really the only one that stood out to me as something to play with. And play with it I did.

I added a duplicate layer using virtual photographers Shoebox mode under the B&W section, the default settings. It basically changes the photo to a negative. Then I changed the blend mode of the layer to luminosity which brought back some of the color to the leaves. Thought it looked kind of interesting. Then I just added a border to put it over the top. If you're going to go this crazy with editing you should just go all the way, right? :)

Anyhoo, here's what the original looked like just SFW and sharpened a tad.

It's very cool! Looks like something from a horror movie - the bush that came from the fog... Awesome!

Half the fun of these side challenges is seeing what can be done way outside the limits of normal DPC stuff. Pretty good shot for a drive-by, too!

It's so fun to play with photoshop, isn't it? Addictive little program. I know I used to read real books a heck of a lot more before I became a photo editing addict. What a dramatic difference from the original! Very cool effect.
