 This would be my very old puppy Copper.

He's a little camera shy, so this is about the best I could get. But I felt compelled to offer some sort of balance for all the feline images gracing this month's work. It's not that I don't like cats, it's just that I like dogs better.

Granted a cat will keep your house free of mice. But this fellow here will keep your back yard free of possums, birds, and other small animals.

I started to shoot his latest victim before burying him, but he wasn't looking too good and I know many of you are quite sensitive. Let's just say there is a definite difference between a possum playing dead and a dead possum.

Thanks for sparing us the gore. Copper is beautiful - and apparently a vigilant pup.

My cat Cosima, who is a master huntress, has caught birds, lizards, small bunnies, a bat (!) and other critters that you might not expect. She got a humming bird once - that was a mess - thousands of micro-feathers everywhere.

this is exactly what my dog does when i point a camera at him! he alsways looks in the other direction!
